Bill Reddick is a studio potter and porcelain artist working out of a refurbushed school house in North Port, Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. He lives there with his wife, Danielle, and their three daughters who are all involved with Bill's enterprise. Several years ago, Bill was approached by then Governor General Adrienne Clarkson and her husband, John Ralston Saul, to produce an official porcelain service for Rideau Hall that featured the maple leaf and the reds of the Canadian autumn. The Maple Leaf Service is now Canada's official state dinnerware.
Working primarily with celadon glazes on procelain, Bill continues to explore the origins of his craft dating back to the Song and Ming dynasties of China. This journey led Bill to the Korean celadons and a recent trip to the country that resulted in his successful show and talk at the Gardiner Museum in Toronto (Cogito Sum Korean: I Think I Am Korean, May 2010).
Bill and Danielle invite you to visit the studio Saturday and Sunday May 22-23 and May 29-30 when they host their annual Open House weekends.
